The Jägerhaus is part of a historic ensemble of buildings in the most beautiful valley basin of the Kalkalpen National Park. The treasure of the wild forests in the national park is its enormous biodiversity. The diversity of
habitats and the natural features are unique - natural streams, near-natural forests with gnarled giant trees, species-rich fauna and flora. Rare plants and animals
find ideal habitats here. Here, visitors can discover nature, experience wild animals, feel the wilderness and enjoy Alpine pastures.

The Jägerhaus national park supply station is the starting and finishing point for numerous hiking trails (circular hiking trail to Ebenforstalm and Schaumbergalm; hiking trail to the Steyrsteg bivouac site and to
Größtenberg and Windischgarsten; hiking trail to Feichtaualm and Hoher Nock). The "Wasser-Spuren" nature trail leads right past it. It is located on the Molln - Windischgarsten riding and
mountain bike route.

Further offers from Kalkalpen National Park in the Bodinggraben:

Due to its exposed location, the snack station is not connected to the public power supply. The electricity comes from a small hydroelectric power station, a photovoltaic system and, if that is not and if that is not enough, a combined heat and power plant powered by liquid gas steps in. Access is via a municipal road (asphalt and gravel).
