on a discovery tour

Cooperation between regional accommodation providers and Kalkalpen National Park is particularly important. A partner hike was organized to exchange the latest information.

Parnter hike in the Kalkalpen National Park

Close cooperation with the region is a central concern of the Kalkalpen National Park . A new information series has been launched to promote exchange between partner companies and national park employees. The aim is to provide insights into current nature conservation work and to develop joint perspectives for the future.

The event kicked off with a guided hike for accommodation providers from the region. Numerous hosts, tourism representatives and interested parties accepted the invitation and took the opportunity to familiarize themselves with the national park's diverse summer programme on site - including the popular ranger tours, which allow guests to experience nature in an authentic way.

They were accompanied by National Park Director Josef Forstinger and a team of experts from the National Park. "Our partner businesses are important ambassadors for the National Park. If they know and experience our programmes, they can pass this knowledge on to their guests with enthusiasm," emphasizes Director Josef Forstinger. "The personal exchange is just as important as the content-related information."

A highlight of the excursion was the visit to the National Park Panorama Tower, which offered an impressive panoramic view of over 20 two-thousand-metre peaks.
Afterwards, a cosy get-together provided space for lively discussions. Questions about planned activities, projects and opportunities for cooperation were discussed. The national park administration sees close networking with its partner businesses as an important key to sustainable tourism and active nature conservation in the region.

The next excursion is already being planned, which is aimed specifically at alpine farmers and keepers. The focus will be on the special features of the Alpine pastures in the National Park - as a valuable part of our evolved cultural landscape and as sensitive habitats whose sustainable use and care is the main focus.
