Austria's natural heritage
Six national parks protect the most ecologically valuable natural areas in our country. From the Pannonian Plain to Austria's highest peak - the landscapes could not be more different. And yet they all have one goal in common: nature conservation and the preservation of species enjoy top priority here and ensure the largely undisturbed development of the characteristic flora and fauna. In their claim to make the untouched tangible, national parks are also valuable recreational, educational and research areas.
