1090 plant species (vascular plants, mosses and lichens) have so far been recorded by the biotope mapping (2015) at Kalkalpen National Park . This corresponds to around a third of all plant species found in Austria! Particular rarities include a large number of wild orchid species, the largest and probably best-known of which is the yellow lady's slipper.
