MORE WILDERNESS IN THE CLASSROOM

Our partner schools are increasingly incorporating national park-related content into their lessons. During National Park Experience Days, pupils learn how to interact responsibly with nature through play and research.

Our partner schools

School classes are a key target group of the Kalkalpen National Park education program. Our aim is to raise young people's awareness of nature conservation and the preservation of biodiversity. The following committed schools from the region are already Kalkalpen National Park partner schools:

How to become one
National Park partner school?

In the course of the preparatory work for the partnership, numerous concrete measures will be formulated in a cooperation agreement.

The cooperation in the field of national park environmental education has the following goals:

  • Raising awareness among students and teachers about the Kalkalpen National Park and its conservation philosophy: The internationally recognized protected area allows the return of wilderness on a large part of its area.

  • Increased integration of national park-related content in the classroom to motivate students to deal responsibly with nature. For example, every pupil should take part in national park education programmes and also visit one of the visitor centres.
