"The fascination of rock"
The rocky region is the realm of specialists. Animals and plants have adapted to this special habitat with extraordinary strategies: as climbing artists, masters of camouflage or with special growth forms. At new adventure stations, you can find out why there are more butterflies in Kalkalpen National Park than in any other protected area in Austria and how the mountain forest will change as a result of climate change.
The fascinating nature film "Paradise of Stone" shows the breathtaking mountain world of the Kalkalpen National Park region with spectacular flight shots of golden eagles and wallcreepers. The film is also available in English for foreign-language guests.
The viewing terrace of the Panorama Tower offers a magnificent panoramic view of the surrounding mountains: Totes Gebirge, Haller Mauern and Sengsengebirge almost within reach.
